No. In Canada a manufacturer can't void your warranty simply because you had the vehicle serviced somewhere other than the dealership — the Competition Bureau is clear on that. What matters is that the work is done to the manufacturer's specifications with the right parts and fluids, and that you keep your receipts. We itemise every invoice so you have exactly that record if a warranty claim ever comes up.
Both — and you decide which. For some jobs OEM is the only sensible choice: engine internals, sensors and anything where a cheap substitute causes a comeback. For plenty of other repairs a quality aftermarket brand performs just as well for noticeably less. We'll tell you what each option costs, where the quality difference actually matters on your vehicle, and then you choose. We don't quietly fit the cheapest part and charge dealer prices for it.
Yes. Proper diagnosis takes a scan tool, test equipment and a technician's time, and it's what stops you paying for parts you never needed. We'll tell you the fee when you book so there's no surprise, and you'll know exactly what's wrong before you commit to any repair.
Always — and in Alberta that's the law, not a courtesy. A licensed repair shop has to give you a written estimate on request, and the final bill can't exceed that estimate by more than 10%, up to a maximum of $100 over. Any additional work needs your consent before it's started. In practice we phone you, explain what we found, and wait for your go-ahead.
We specialise in European — Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen — and also look after most Japanese and Korean imports, plus plenty of domestics. Engine and turbo work is what we're set up for, including the jobs other shops sublet out. If your vehicle isn't on our list, call and ask; the answer is usually yes.
Yes, and we see a lot of it once Edmonton drops below −20. Hard starting in winter is usually a battery that's lost capacity, a failed block heater cord or element, a weak glow plug circuit on a diesel, or fuel and oil that are simply too thick for the temperature. We'll test rather than guess, and tell you which of those it actually is.
Talk to us before you buy anything. The problem with customer-supplied parts is warranty: if the part fails we can't stand behind it, and you pay the labour a second time to put it right. We'd rather quote you on a part we trust and can back.
Yes. Parts carry the warranty the manufacturer or supplier provides, and we stand behind our labour. We'll tell you exactly what the coverage is on your specific repair before you approve it, and it goes on your invoice in writing.
Yes, we do them here. If you've brought a vehicle in from another province it needs an Alberta out-of-province inspection before it can be registered, and we're set up to carry that out. Call ahead so we can book you a slot with enough time to do it properly, and we'll confirm the current fee when you book.
A diagnostic or a routine service is usually same-day. Engine and turbo work takes longer and often depends on parts arriving — some European components aren't stocked locally and come in overnight or from out of province. We give you a realistic timeframe when we quote, and we call you if anything changes it.
It's much better if you book. The bays fill up and we'd rather give your vehicle proper time than squeeze it in between other jobs. Use the booking form or just call. If your vehicle is undriveable or you don't think it's safe to drive, call us and we'll work something out.
